Icevale Archer fits best in low-curve, tempo-oriented or aggressive Riftbound decks that want to pressure early while controlling opposing small units, especially in builds that can reliably generate spare energy to convert its attack trigger into incremental board advantage. It shines in tempo-midrange shells that care about winning combat math, picking off 1-health units, or softening blockers so other attackers can trade up, but it’s weaker in pure aggro (where paying extra energy can slow your curve) and in late-game control (where -1 Might is often negligible). If your format includes more efficient 2-cost units with immediate impact—such as a 2-cost with unconditional removal on play or a higher-stat body without additional energy investment—those would generally be better, since Icevale Archer’s value depends on repeated attacks and extra energy. Overall, it’s playable in energy-flexible tempo decks but likely not an auto-include unless the meta is filled with small, combat-focu
