However, for a 7-cost card to be competitive, it generally needs either immediate impact (damage, removal, strong summon effect) or game-ending pressure, so if there are Dragons at similar or lower cost that generate value on play, protect themselves, or swing the board instantly, those would likely be better in faster or more interactive metas. Direwing should see play primarily if its stats are above rate for its cost or if Dragon synergy is already strong in the format; otherwise, in a highly competitive environment, more independently powerful top-end threats may outclass it.
