Machine Evangel fits best in midrange or sacrifice-synergy decks that can reliably trigger Deathknell effects and capitalize on swarm generation, especially strategies that benefit from wide boards, unit-based buffs, or resource conversion from expendable tokens. Since it effectively turns one 5-cost unit into three 1-cost Recruit bodies after death, it’s strongest in decks that exploit token synergies, death triggers, or base-defending value engines rather than aggressive tempo lists where delayed value is too slow. However, if Riftbound has cheaper or more immediately impactful token generators (such as a 4-cost unit that creates multiple bodies on play rather than on death, or a spell that summons tokens without needing setup), those would generally be more efficient because they don’t require the unit to die first.
