**Detonate** is best suited for aggressive or tempo-oriented decks that want cheap, efficient interaction to remove problematic enemy gears while maintaining pressure, since trading 1 resource for a key opposing gear can generate strong tempo even if the opponent draws 2 cards; it can also fit into combo-control builds that don’t care about giving the opponent cards because they plan to win quickly or invalidate those extra draws.
