Enthralling Protector fits best in an aggressive or tempo-oriented Hunt deck that consistently conquers or holds locations to generate steady XP, especially one built to convert XP into repeated value over time; because it is cheap and self-scaling, it works well in low-curve builds that can protect it while it snowballs into a durable early threat. However, decks that struggle to reliably trigger Hunt or that need immediate board impact may find it underwhelming, since it requires both successful board presence and additional XP investment before becoming meaningfully stronger. In many cases, more efficient 2-cost units that either provide immediate stats, grant teamwide buffs, or generate XP without needing to hold territory will outperform it, particularly in faster metas. Overall, it is playable in XP-focused or Hunt-synergy decks but likely not optimal unless the deck is specifically built to fuel and protect scaling units.
