Treasure Hunter fits best in a tempo‑ or engine‑focused deck that can reliably trigger multiple movement effects (blink, reposition, forced movement, or repeatable mobility tools), since each move generates a Gold gear token and converts mobility into incremental resource advantage; it’s especially strong in midrange value shells or combo‑leaning builds that use gear tokens as fuel for synergies, sacrifice outlets, or cost reduction engines. However, if your list can’t consistently move units, it’s underwhelming compared to more self-sufficient 2‑cost value cards that generate immediate impact without setup (for example, a 2‑cost unit that creates a token on play or provides raw card draw would generally be more reliable).
