Sandshifter fits best in a midrange or control deck that wants attached removal on a body, especially in metas where aggressive decks rely on low‑Might units (3 or less) to generate early pressure; it provides tempo by removing a threat while developing your own board. However, at 5 cost, its efficiency depends heavily on the size of the unit you get alongside the effect—if the body is merely average, cheaper dedicated removal or a 4‑cost unit with similar kill text would usually be better, since paying 5 to answer a small unit can be slow against aggro and underwhelming against midrange. If your format includes a 3–4 cost spell that destroys or deals with 3‑Might units outright, that card is typically more efficient, while a 5‑cost unit that can hit higher Might thresholds would outclass Sandshifter in flexibility. Overall, Sandshifter should see play mainly in slower decks that value removal stapled to board presence, but it’s likely meta‑dependent rather than an auto‑include.
