Morbid Return

About Morbid Return

Morbid Return, Spell, designed by Rafael Zanchetin first released in March 2026 in the set Origins. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 0.18.

**Morbid Return** fits best in grindy midrange or control decks that rely on high‑value units with strong enter‑the‑battlefield effects or key synergy pieces, since paying 2 to recur a powerful or combo‑enabling unit can generate strong card advantage and resilience in longer games. It’s especially effective in attrition matchups where repeated threats overwhelm removal, or in sacrifice/self‑mill strategies that naturally stock the trash. However, if the format includes more efficient recursion (such as a 1‑cost return spell, a version that puts the unit directly into play, or one that adds additional value like a stat boost or card draw), those options would generally be stronger due to tempo advantage; direct‑to‑field reanimation is typically better than return‑to‑hand effects. Morbid Return should see play if the meta is removal‑heavy and games go long, but in faster formats it may be too slow unless it supports a specific combo or high‑impact unit package.
