About Ruthless Strike

Ruthless Strike looks best in tempo, midrange, or control decks that want flexible spot removal and can either spare a card in hand or actively profit from discard, because at baseline 3 cost for 3 damage is merely serviceable but the optional discard turning it into 5 damage makes it much more relevant for killing bigger battlefield units; that means it is strongest in spell-heavy decks with card draw, graveyard/discard payoff, or metagames where cleanly answering medium-size threats on curve matters, while low-resource aggro decks usually hate pitching extra cards for removal unless the swing is decisive. Based on the text alone, I would not call it an auto-include or obviously overpowered, and I also would not call it strictly outclassed without seeing your exact card pool, since its main selling point is flexibility; in general, a “better” card would be any removal spell in your colors that deals 4-5 damage for 3 or less without requiring a discard, or one that can hit more targets
