Scrapheap, Gear, designed by Kudos Productions first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Origins.
Scrapheap is best suited for combo, sacrifice, or self-discard archetypes that actively trigger its “played, discarded, or killed” clause multiple times, turning it into reliable card velocity rather than just a 2‑cost cantrip; decks that use loot effects, sacrifice outlets, or recursion engines benefit most because Scrapheap replaces itself in nearly every interaction, helping dig toward win conditions while maintaining hand size. However, in straightforward midrange or aggro lists that don’t naturally discard or kill their own units, it’s underwhelming compared to more impactful 2‑cost value cards that either generate immediate board presence or draw multiple cards (for example, dedicated draw engines or units that create additional bodies or resources on play). If the format includes cheaper cantrips or 2‑cost cards that draw 2 under common conditions, those would generally be better in pure value terms. Scrapheap should see play primarily in synergy-driven decks that can trigger it
