Riven, Shattered would most benefit an aggressive midrange or tempo deck that can consistently attach Equipment and wants a sticky threat that converts board setup into burst damage, especially if the deck already runs cheap Equipment or ways to move/stack them efficiently; she’s strongest in an Equipment-focused shell where her Weaponmaster discount makes her effectively “tempo-positive” by getting a weapon onto her and then threatening big attacks. She’s less attractive in decks that only run one or two Equipment, because then she’s just a 3-cost attacker with modest value. If there are better cards, the “better” option is usually whatever cheaper, more reliable threat or removal tool fills the same slot without needing extra setup—most generic decks would prefer a standalone efficient 3-drop over a synergy piece, while dedicated Equipment decks may still want Riven as one of the payoff cards rather than the best card outright.
