Introduction

In this article, we ranked the 10 best cards in Unleashed. These cards will certainly dominate the meta and become staples real soon, so let's go through them!
This is just our opinion, but we did test out all of these cards online, including all the new legends, for a long time.
Our goal with this article is to promote a healthy debate. Feel comfortable to disagree, but please be respectful in our comment section below.
Before we begin, however, let me introduce myself. My name is Total, and I used to cast Legends of Runeterra tournaments professionally. I covered all the official tournaments, including Worlds, and I am known for creating deck guides for LoR as well. Now, I am a part of the Riftbound community!
10 - Pyke Dockside Butcher

Set 3 didn't give us many great red cards, but one of them stood out, and today it is our 10th best card.
Pyke Dockside Butcher has everything to become a staple in red decks. It has premium stats and is relatively cheap, but that's just the beginning.
It also has ganking and can enter play ready if you use one of its effects, which is a very dangerous combination. With this card, red lists might be able to score 2 points in a single turn early on a lot more easily.
9 - Back Off

This new green staple will make sure you never forget green strategies are all about holding battlefields.
Because you can play this spell hidden and, at the same time, also get something out of it when you don't, it is pretty flexible. It will make green decks a lot more complex.
Currently, stun is one of the best effects in the game. Any spell or effect that stuns units and is a little bit playable is already incredibly strong.
8 - Star Crossed

Those who aren't keeping up with the Unleashed meta probably didn't even notice Star Crossed.
What makes this spell so powerful is that it is a reaction speed spell. You can answer removals or attacks by returning an enemy unit to your opponent's hand with it and also put one of your units back in your hand.
Purple decks already play units that like to get back into your hand, but your opponent won't like this effect at all.
For just 3 energies and 1 power, you'll be able to destroy your opponent's tempo with this card.
7 - LeBlanc Fragmented

This will be the chosen champion of LeBlanc lists, but it could remain useful in Riftbound for a long time.
It can be a staple in any yellow deck from now on because it's a safe early game unit. It's great if you're second to play as well.
It's also a formidable attacker and has an incredible effect: even if you let it die, it will still draw you cards.
6 - Rengar Trophy Hunter

This card will change all orange decks from now on.
Orange was the weakest color when Spiritforged came out, but it will certainly not be weak after we get our hands on these Unleashed cards.
Rengar Trophy Hunter makes sure that, even when you're behind in tempo, you can get back into the match by playing it directly on an enemy battlefield.
This means that orange decks can now play a sort of removal with a unit built-in as a bonus. And we haven't even mentioned its premium stats and its great effect.
5 - Mirror Image

LeBlanc's signature spell will be one of the most important cards in her list. With this effect, LeBlanc can adapt to each matchup, as she'll be able to copy enemy units and attack with them immediately.
Your opponent will spend 8 energies and 2 power to play a Vilemaw, and you'll spend 3 energies and 2 power to copy it and ready it in your base. Incredible.
4 - Leblanc Deceiver

LeBlanc is the best legend in Unleashed. Its effect is extremely strong, and, if you use it well, you can become unstoppable.
This effect can fit many different game styles and battlefields as well, so LeBlanc is one of the most versatile legends in the game.
So far, players are still debating which is the best LeBlanc list, but nearly all of them agree she will be strong, regardless of the deck.
3 - Vilemaw

Vilemaw will also change the game considerably. Green is almost certainly going to be the best color in the game with these Unleashed cards, and Vilemaw is one of the reasons why.
It can disable some strategies and decks completely, so it's a bit toxic.
It's also a gigantic card that you can play as a reaction, and its effect disables any enemy unit smaller than it completely. Nothing it does seems fair. However, some cards in this set are even more "unfair" than Vilemaw.
2 - Thrill of the Hunt

This card can turn an enemy attack into one of your attacks, as it activates your units' assault.
Not to mention, you can simply play one of your units on an open battlefield and score a point on the opponent's turn with it.
It will certainly be the center of many "judge calls" in tournaments. The only thing that makes Thrill of the Hunt a little fair is that it is a signature spell and you can only play it with Rengar. Otherwise, it would probably be banned.
1 - Vex Apathetic

Speaking of cards that might end up banned, Vex Apathetic is certainly the best card in Unleashed because it completely disables 2 decks all by itself: Lillia and Rengar, which are also included in Set 3.
This card will turn some matchups into rock, paper, scissors because some decks simply can't deal with it. It can see play in practically any purple deck because it's so strong.
The fact it doesn't cost any power and you can play it directly on your champion zone makes it a bunch of premium stats on a stick. Its effect also changes the rules of the game completely the minute it touches the table.
It will certainly be banned because its effect makes many strategies completely useless. With it in the meta, these strategies won't have any chance to win.
