Introduction - The Worst Cards in Vendetta

Vendetta has been around for long enough! Enough time has passed now that most players know which cards are good and which are bad.

Today, we'll discuss the 5 worst uncommon and common cards in this set. We'll also show you why they're so terrible and why they don't add anything to your strategies.

5 - Ol' Poro

This is one of the slowest units in the game. You can only play it from turn 4 onward, even though it costs 2 energy.

It goes against the current deck-building philosophy in Riftbound, which is playing 2-cost cards in your deck precisely to play them early on.

The idea behind Ol' Poro is to have a unit that costs 2 energy and has premium stats, but you only get to play it in the mid to late game. It is an interesting idea, and, in theory, it would fix your "tempo" at the end of the game, but, in practice, it doesn't work. It will only mess up your hand and disrupt you instead of help you.

4 - Tomb-Raider Barbara

This unit doesn't cost a lot for its stats, and it has a Gear Hate effect that even seems interesting, as well as useful.

However, please remember that you can only activate its effect if you control 7 runes or more, which green decks can't do nowadays unless you're very ahead, almost winning. Or if you're in the late, late game, when this effect wouldn't be helpful.

Other green Gear Hate cards, like Disarming Rake, are a lot more consistent because their effects are always available. Tomb-Raider Barbara, in turn, can put you in a bad position several times throughout the game and often "bricks" your hand.

3 - Keeper of Law

The strategy centered around "having exactly 2 units on the battlefield" is terrible and counterintuitive to what Holding decks really want to do. This includes, for instance, Shen lists.

Keeper of Law is one of those cards that should, supposedly, support this archetype, but its effect, besides being counterintuitive by nature, is twice as counterintuitive because it doesn't fit the idea of having exactly 2 units in play.

It can come into play for fewer resources, but you have to put it in the base to make sure you still have exactly 2 units in play. This will make your board considerably weaker and doesn't really go that well with what the deck wants to do.

Despite everything, it does have premium stats, and that's why it doesn't occupy our 1st place today. Other than that, it is, indeed, one of the worst cards in the game.

2 - Noxian Demolitionist

Noxian Demolitionist is a Gear hate unit that seems quite interesting because it is very cheap. However, its biggest problem is that it only kills Gears that cost less or the same amount of energy as its Might. And it has 1 Might, so it only removes Gears that cost 1.

Currently, no 1-cost Gear is seeing play.

You can buff Noxian Demolitionist to kill Gears that are more expensive. The problem is that this is not worth it. You'll spend far too many resources to buff this unit's Might just to destroy a Gear, and you can do that much more easily with Akshan, Mischievous, for instance, or with any other Gear hate spell in your support color.

This is one of the worst Gear hate cards in the game. The only reason it is not our absolute worst pick today is because it is interesting against Azir and can be a strong tech in this matchup.

1 - Sacred Protector

Sacred Protector is the worst card among the uncommon and common cards in the game. It is also one of Shen's support cards, which are terrible simply because his archetype is, overall, terrible.

This unit doesn't deal damage unless it is on a battlefield alongside exactly 1 other allied unit. This means you can't even attack with this unit by itself.

Though it does have premium stats, it costs 1 Power, and you have to set everything up to activate its effect. Otherwise, it is quite vulnerable and can't either attack or defend.

It is our worst card today because it doesn't do anything for your deck. The other cards in this article at least do something that can be helpful occasionally.

Sacred Protector will be helpful to you once in 20 games or more. It doesn't even work in sealed formats. It might be the worst card in this set and is certainly one of the 10 worst cards in the entire game.
