It should complement Mel even more, as it is a solid combat trick.MesmerizeThe Riftbound card pool is getting bigger and bigger, and Mesmerize combines two effects that are already present in two different blue cards.It combines Frigid Touch's effect without Repeat as well as Retreat's effect, and it costs as much as Stupefy.Is Memerize's power cost too heavy? And is it worth it playing this card, considering that there are other, cheaper cards that do the same and also do something else?Only time will tell. For now, Mesmerize is a cheap option because it is a common card, and it's also quite flexible. Particularly if you're struggling to fill the last slots in your deck.Depending on what Mel, her signature spell, and champion unit do, Mesmerize could become a staple in this archetype. It will enable a variety of strategies that will most likely interact with what future Mel decks want to do: return allied units to your hand and nerf enemy units by attacking their might.Who Is Mel?Mel Medarda is one of the main characters in Arcane, the animated show set in the League of Legends universe. Born in the powerful Medarda family, which is originally from Noxus, Mel was sent to Piltover after her disagreeing with her mother, Ambessa, on her military worldviews (Ambessa will also be featured in Vendetta). Mel eventually became one of the most powerful political figures in Piltover and supported the development of Hextec alongside Jayce.Throughout the story, Mel shows that she prefers diplomacy and progress instead of violence, and that sets her apart from the rest of her family. She eventually finds out she can use magic and ends up involved in conflicts that go way beyond Piltover.
