**Morbid Return** past het beste in grindy midrange- of controledecks die afhankelijk zijn van hoogwaardige eenheden met sterke enter-the-battlefield-effecten of belangrijke synergiestukken, omdat het betalen van 2 om een krachtige of combo-bevorderende eenheid terug te halen een sterk kaartvoordeel en veerkracht kan genereren in langere games. Het is vooral effectief bij uitputtingswedstrijden waarbij herhaalde bedreigingen de verwijdering overweldigen, of bij opofferings-/zelf-molenstrategieën die op natuurlijke wijze de prullenbak opslaan.
