De Simic Guildgate zou ten goede komen aan een deck dat zich richt op het verhogen van mana en het fixeren van kleuren, vooral in een Simic (groen/blauw) deck dat zowel groene als blauwe manabronnen vereist. Hoewel de Guildgate een budgetvriendelijke optie is, zijn er betere alternatieven zoals Breeding Pool of Tropical Island die onaangeboorde dubbele landen met extra voordelen bieden. Voor spelers met een beperkt budget of die hun manabasis willen aanvullen, kan Simic Guildgate echter nog steeds spelen in casual of budgetdecks.
