Subtle Strike zou nuttig zijn in een kaartspel dat zich richt op manipulatie van wezens of +1/+1 counters, zoals een Golgari- of Abzan-kaartspel in Magic: the Gathering. Hoewel het veelzijdigheid biedt bij zowel het verzwakken van het wezen van een tegenstander als het versterken van je eigen wezen, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Assassin's Trophy of Dismember die een effectievere verwijdering of verbetering bieden.
