Een kaartspel dat zich richt op het snel opvoeren van mana en het trekken van kaarten om het kaartvoordeel te behouden, zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Urban Evolution. Decks die afhankelijk zijn van het spelen van meerdere landen per beurt of die een hoge manacurve hebben, zouden deze kaart bijzonder nuttig vinden. Hoewel Urban Evolution een solide kaart is vanwege de manakosten, zijn er potentieel betere opties beschikbaar, zoals Explore of Growth Spiral, die vergelijkbare effecten bieden tegen lagere kosten. Over het geheel genomen zou Urban Evolution spel in bepaalde ramp- of control-decks kunnen zien, maar de opname ervan zou afhangen van de specifieke strategie en speelstijl van het deck.

If you somehow manage to cast Urban Evolution when it’s not your turn, you’ll draw three cards when it resolves, but you won’t be able to play a land that turn.

Urban Evolution’s effect allows you to play an additional land during your main phase. Doing so follows the normal timing rules for playing lands. In particular, you don’t get to play a land as Urban Evolution resolves; Urban Evolution fully resolves first and you draw three cards, perhaps including a land you’ll play later.
