Mindsplitter is best suited for slow, controlling decks that want to disrupt the opponent’s key combo pieces or late‑game bombs while advancing their own inevitability—especially midrange‑control or hard control shells that can afford a 7‑cost play and value precise hand disruption over tempo. It’s strongest in metas where combo or single‑card win conditions are common, since targeted discard with full hand information is far more impactful there than against aggressive decks that empty their hand quickly. That said, at 7 cost, it competes with more proactive finishers or board‑swinging threats, so unless the body attached to Mindsplitter is exceptionally strong, cheaper discard options (like earlier hand‑peek effects or 3–5 cost targeted discard units/spells) or high‑impact late‑game threats that immediately affect the board are usually better.
