Vex – Cheerless fits best in a spell-dense tempo or control-combo deck that wants to cast multiple cheap spells during combat, since her effect both discounts your friendly spells (down to a minimum of 1) and taxes your opponent’s, creating a powerful swing in spell-based exchanges; she’s especially strong in lists built around reactive tricks, combat blowouts, or chaining low-cost value spells in a single turn. She is less effective in unit-heavy midrange or low-spell aggro decks that can’t consistently capitalize on the cost reduction. Whether she should see play depends on the current meta: in a spell-heavy environment she’s a strong tech and potentially core engine piece, but in creature-centric metas she may be too slow for 5 cost.
