About Captain Farron
Captain Farron, Unit, designed by Six More Vodka first released in Aug, 2026 in the set Origins.
Captain Farron fits best in an aggressive, board-centric Riftbound deck that wants to flood a location with multiple units and attack early and often, since granting **Assault** and a +1 might boost while attacking significantly increases combat pressure and helps smaller units trade up or push damage efficiently. He shines in swarm or go-wide midrange builds that can reliably establish multiple friendly units at the same location, maximizing the aura effect, but he’s less impressive in control or low-unit-count decks where the buff won’t consistently matter. Whether he should see play depends on the card pool: if there are cheaper global Assault enablers, stronger standalone 4-cost threats, or units that provide permanent stat boosts instead of conditional attack-only bonuses, those would generally be better; however, if repeatable team-wide Assault is rare in the format, Farron can be a strong tempo piece worth including as a 2–3 copy support threat in aggressive lists.
