Its low cost makes it efficient for early stabilization or for triggering rune-synergy effects, but on raw power level it likely competes with more impactful 1-cost equips that grant stats, card draw, or reactive protection (such as a hypothetical Swiftguard Plating that grants +1/+2 and ward on entry, or Iron Bastion Sigil that prevents the next instance of damage).
