Invert Timelines, Spell, designed by Kudos Productions first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Origins.
**Invert Timelines** is best suited for aggressive or combo-oriented decks that can quickly empty their hand and leverage the symmetrical discard-draw effect to disrupt slower, control-focused opponents while refueling themselves—particularly spell-slinger, tempo, or graveyard-synergy builds that benefit from discarding cards. Decks that dump cheap threats early or rely on specific multi-card combos can use it to both reload and potentially throw off opponents who were sculpting a larger hand. However, if the format includes more efficient card draw or selective filtering options (such as a 2-cost draw 3, or a draw-then-discard effect that avoids helping the opponent), those would generally be stronger because they provide advantage without symmetry. As a result, Invert Timelines is playable mainly in proactive, low-curve or synergy-heavy decks that can break the symmetry, but it’s unlikely to be an auto-include if more efficient or asymmetrical draw engines exist in the card pool.
