Renekton's kit looks quite promising and will redefine what an aggressive Riftbound deck is.

Despite his absurdly aggressive effect and incredibly strong support cards, though, Renekton could fly under the radar early on. But, eventually, he might become one of the strongest archetypes in the entire game when the matter is preying on low-tier lists.

Renekton - Butcher of the Sands

This card, like many other legends before him, will define his entire archetype.

You'll play around his ability nearly always, taking advantage of his "ramp" to set up risky yet powerful plays early on.

With this legend, you can play 6-cost units on your second turn, and, as almost everything in this list interacts with "having just a few runes", you won't end up that far behind. Even though you'll recycle an absurd amount of runes every turn.

Renekton will very quickly become the best red/orange legend in the game if his archetype proves to be consistent, which is surprising for an "all-in" strategy like this.

His color combination is just too strong, and his decks might end up looking like Rengar lists. The only difference is that they'll play unique tools that make their early game a lot more explosive.

Renekton - Rage Fueled

This will be the most important unit in your deck and probably what you'll play in your champion zone.

This is the card we're referring to when we say you can put an expensive unit in play on your second turn with your legend's effect.

Putting this unit in play early on is absurdly strong, and that's something only this archetype can do.

What you'll spend in terms of resources to put this unit in play, your opponent will probably spend to remove it. So, it is a real war machine. It will constantly be a problem for your opponent.

His effect is quite strong, as it lets you clear the opponent's board automatically if they only put small units in play. Overall, it's a pretty strong card, with premium stats and Accelerate. Like so, it can come into play and attack on turn 2 if you're going first.

This Renekton Rage Fueled + Legend combo could be quite consistent. If so, then this deck could become quite popular in competitive settings as well.

Renekton - Brute

This unit has a lot of potential because it gives itself Empower if you get its Might up to 10 or more. It doesn't need anything else.

You'd have to spend 6 energy to do that (through his first effect), which, for this archetype, won't be a problem. Actually, it's something you will do quite often.

Though it is the weakest champion unit, you can consider playing it in the main deck. After all, you can easily get its stats up and attack with it.

However, overall, it might end up forgotten because red Renekton is a lot more consistent, easy to combo, and perhaps the best turn-2 play for this deck.

Finally, Renekton's signature spell is quite elegant. It turns any allied unit into a deadly showdown machine.

It fits both champion units and, overall, any big unit, which this deck will often play to beat the opponent.

As it seems, this card will make this deck "showdown-proof", at least on your turn. Any of your units can get huge with it, and, because of the legend's effect, you'll always have the resources you need to play your cards and keep playing your combos.

Overall, this spell might be what this deck needed to make sure you always have more Might than the opponent. It really fits the overall theme and the character.

What to Expect From This Archetype

Renekton lists will most likely become the most aggressive in the entire game. But they'll have clear weaknesses as well. For instance, they'll always be behind because of how many runes they use. They'll also struggle with card draw and will have to play units that recycle runes, which should disrupt their rhythm.

This list will commit everything too early and needs to take advantage of its legend's effect in the first few turns. If your board gets cleared for some reason, it will hardly be able to recover because of the way these cards work.

The overall style is "spend everything and pass your turn without any runes available."

So, you'll most likely have to play many Ganking cards or effects that ready units to make sure you can conquer battlefields twice in the same turn. After all, once it's the opponent's turn, they'll certainly clear your board or at least remove one unit, considering you can't really answer that.

This list will most likely be great against low-tier decks. It completely ruins any sort of slow strategy and anything that relies on a particular setup because of its incredibly explosive early game.

Still, it might not be more than a low tier 1 or high tier 2 list and could struggle against certain lists, particularly purple ones, like Kennen, which play lots of bounce effects.
